Family & Friends® CPR

The AHA Family & Friends CPR course is a short, video-led class. It teaches basic life-saving skills like Hands-Only™ CPR, AED use (a portable machine that restarts the heart), and choking relief for adults, children, and babies. It does not give a job certificate.

HeartCode® ACLS (Skills Assessment)

HeartCode® ACLS is the American Heart Association's (AHA) official blended learning method for Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification. It combines self-paced online coursework with a mandatory in-person skills session. Part 1 (Online): A self-directed, adaptive eLearning program that uses eSimulation technology to let you treat virtual patients. The 2025 version uses a personalized algorithm that adjusts the content based on your performance and confidence levels. Part 2 (Skills Session): After finishing the online portion, you must attend a hands-on session with an AHA Instructor or a HeartCode-compatible manikin to demonstrate proficiency.

Step 2 - The Skills Test: Once you finish the online portion, you must practice with a real dummy and test your physical skills in person with an AHA instructor. This usually takes about 2 hours

Online Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED (Skills Assessment)

a flexible, blended learning program designed for individuals with little or no medical training. To receive an official, employer-compliant two-year AHA Course Completion eCard, you must complete both the self-paced online modules and an in-person, hands-on skills assessment. Takes roughly 30 minutes to 2 hours. Once you print your online completion certificate, you must book a separate session with an authorized AHA instructor to physically practice and test your skills on a manikin. This is that authorized assessment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Nothing special is required. Wear comfortable clothing you can move in — you will be practicing CPR techniques on a mannequin. We bring all the training equipment.

Most AHA certifications are valid for 2 years. You will receive a reminder before your certification expires so you can schedule a renewal class.

BLS (Basic Life Support) is designed for healthcare professionals and requires hands-on skills testing. Heartsaver is designed for non-medical workplace responders and the general public. Both result in full AHA certification.
